AGOSTINO FAMILIA

The Agostino FAMILIA line is the product of our family's quest to produce powerful and refined blends of varietal grapes. Two wines are part of this family collection: A red blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo, which produces an expressive, full-bodied wine.

A white blend of two non-traditional varieties, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, completes the Agostino Familia line.

Our Vineyards

Finding the ideal terroir was one of the biggest challenges for the Agostino family. They chose the Mendoza area of Barrancas in Maipú, due to its great potential and unique soil courtesy of the Mendoza River's bed. They also acquired another estate in the heart of the Uco Valley, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Mendoza, which they called “Serafina” in loving honor to their mother.

Barrancas, Maipu - 754 acres

The Maipu estate is located at 850 meters above sea level in the region of Barrancas, to the south-east of the district of Maipú, Mendoza. Most of the planted land benefits from a trellis system, but there are also some hectares with pergola system that are generations’ old. Warm days and cool nights allow our grapes to achieve an optimum ripeness. Scarce rain and strong sunny days create the perfect grapes. Barrancas is a uniquely rich region as it benefits from the nutrients of the Mendoza River which used to run through the estate. The alluvial stony soils of our estate allow us to harvest wines of exceptional quality and intense aroma.

Our Winery

The winery was built in the heart of our Barrancas estate, surrounded by picturesque gardens and fountains. Inaugurated in 2005, the winery counts on stainless steel tanks with a capacity of 2 million liters and 1 million liters in epoxy-sealed concrete pools, and the latest technology for collection, crushing, pressing, wine-making and bottling. The wine aging in French and American barrels hand-selected by our winemaker is done in a unique cellar: an underground tunnel that joins the winery and the family home.

For the aging of the bottled wines, the winery counts on an underground climate-controlled cellar, with a strict temperature and humidity control.
